Most coverage around the upcoming Olympics and the Paralympics has often been focused on the former, with barely media attention given to Paralympic athletes and the games in general. In fact, there will be no TV coverage of the Paralympic games available in India.
This disparity in attention is when one looks at the impact of the pandemic on sporting athletes at large. Barely anything, if at all, has been spoken about the struggles that Paralympic athletes went through over the past year, how they dealt with the uncertainties of the pandemic, how they trained through lockdowns and other important questions.
This is precisely what Amit Saroha, who is representing India in the F51 category of Discus Throw and Club, explores in this video, in conversation with Chirag Chinnappa.
