The Right to Education (RTE) Act makes it possible for children from all walks of life to be able to achieve education at an elementary level. The RTE also makes sure that this education is easily accessible to these children. The Telangana Government has decided to alter this act, by amending Section 6 of the RTE. This Section lays down the framework for the establishment of schools at close distances to localities for better accessibility. The specific changes to this Act could directly impact the reach of education and could possibly shut down 12000 schools. In this video, we take a look at this proposed decision and try and analyze the reasons and the consequences of such an amendment.
