As the Indian Subcontinent embraces the monsoons, As the Indian Subcontinent embraces the monsoons, a settlement in Chetru, Himachal Pradesh, prepares to face the brunt of the flooding Manjhi Stream, on whose banks they have been forced to live. These 300 families were earlier evicted from their homes in Charan Khad, near the Smart City of Dharamshala. Why? They posed “a public health hazard”, and were hindering the development of a ₹100-crore project under the Smart City Mission. Four years later though, they still await rehabilitation.
