A lot has been spoken about India’s ambitious One Nation One Subscription policy, by us in previous videos of this series, as well as global open access organisations. But is One Nation One Subscription the only way to increase access to academic knowledge?

Not really, argues Madhan Muthu of Azim Premji University, who is an Open Access scholar and a Visiting Scholar, DST Centre for Policy Research at the Indian Institute of Science. He says that everybody is too caught up with the One Nation One Subscription idea, and there are many other interesting things in the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy 2020 (STIP) that should be getting the spotlight.
