Whether inadvertent or not, development strategies at the national, state and local levels accentuate this gender inequality.
This paradigm of development is at odds with the United Nations’ (UN) 2030 agenda of achieving 17 goals of sustainable development, all of which emphasize the idea of “leaving no one behind”. 
Piyush Narang argues that integrating Gender Equality into the implementation of the remaining SDGs will trigger a positive multiplier effect: it may guard against the widespread perils of gender-based exploitation and marginalisation.
